Not As Straightforward As It Seems
It sounds a bit too obvious that you play to win baccarat but some people may not be particularly bothered about winning. This is not to claim that they are stupid people without objectives. It just means that they have different hopes and ambitions when they play baccarat. You cannot impose your own value system on people who may not be interested in making as much money as you yourself would like to make. There is a whole spectrum of people in the community with different aspirations. This diversity is also reflected in the clientele at a game of baccarat. Even within the same family, brothers and sisters can have wholly different objects despite having identical upbringings.
If you are playing to win, you will need to have this fact at the back of your mind and set your strategy in such a way that it will be full proof against the obstacles that could possibly derail you from you objective of winning at the game. There has to be a difference in organizing for a mere pastime and actually playing to win baccarat.
Strategy versus Brawn
Baccarat is one of those rare gambling phenomena which requires a bit of intelligence before you can make anything of it. Gambling is traditionally associated with lady luck and strategy rarely, if ever comes into play. You place your bets and hope that the day is yours and you will not face the ignominy of losing all your money. That is why many objectors to the practice of gambling noted its addictive nature as stemming from the fact that the players had no incentive to use their brains. In essence the gambling phenomenon required that people forget some of their intellectual faculties in favor of vacuous lady luck.
Baccarat challenges this system by requiring that players put a bit more thought into their bets. The intelligence is not so much academic as in requiring that people come up with great theories about the nature of the human body and the diseases that affect it. This type of intelligence is based on the common factors that make human beings what we are. I will try to look at some of the intelligence skills that would make a good baccarat player.
Knowing What You Are Seeing
The first part of the intelligence needed is to understand the situation as it is. Normally people who are going to succeed in life are the ones who are able to observe the situation as it is placed before them. They work out the dynamics of everyone involved in the environment as they see it. It might not necessarily require that a person takes down notes but at the very least they must be able to create a mental picture of what is going on and consequently work out a plan for being involved in the situation. I am not sure whether this is learnt or inherited but many people are simply unable to observe a situation.
They see but they do not understand. The information is laid before them but the brain cannot process it or come up with coherent problem patterns in the situation. For a baccarat player this is virtual suicide. If you cannot understand the basic elements of the game when you first arrive on the scene, then the mistakes will start piling up. You need to be able to work out who is doing what and why they are doing it.
